The only group for CRNAs to practice in Austin is Capitol. The other hospital system in Austin doesn't use CRNAs at all. Capitol has a reputation for being pretty restrictive. I've spoken to a lot of CRNAs that would love to work in Austin if the practice set up was better but they don't because they like the autonomy they can get elsewhere. he cost of living in Austin is also higher than many other cities in TX.

Capitol is the only official group i think in Austin that uses CRNA's but the st. David's hospital partnership does use CRNA's as well. I am not sure about the seton network. There are places right outside of austin that also use CRNA's.
Cardiovascular Anesthesiology has used CRNAs. I work at Heart and we have had a few over the past few years. I don't know if they have any employed right now though. I am out of the loop. I only work weekends and the CRNAs don't take call to my knowledge so I never get to see anyone except the MDs. Hope this helps.

A friend is moving to Austin from another state. Which groups are better to work for as far as autonomy, pay, etc ? I've heard of Capital Anesthesia...are they good ? Thanks for the tips.
