Hi everyone,

This will be my first time posting. I will soon be notified if I'll be starting the ADN nursing program in the fall or spring. My question is, once notified I'll need to choose my preferred campus. Round rock and cypress are more convenient for me but my aunt who went through the program swears by CEC. What are your thoughts and personal experiences? I've heard that round rock has a reputation of having very difficult instructors, ofcourse I don't know how true that is. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

It's true. Round Rock has some hard instructors. I took my skills class there with level one professors. I specifically went to EVC because of my experience with 1105. I'm very happy that I did. I've done very well at evc and my friends from 1105 that stayed at RR are not doing as well. They say their lectures are not in line with the book, everything is very unorganized, and the skills check offs are ridiculously strict. Not that they aren't strict at evc, but the general vibe is one of teaching and learning, not a eat your young mentality. Also, the dean's office is at EVC and I think that helps keep the instructors in line. Dr Dickson is very nice and supportive but she does not put up with a learning environment that isn't supportive.

I'm biased, but I would go with EVC if that's an option. And absolutely CEC over RR. Avoid RR if you can.
