Has anyone applied to the ADN program at ACC and actually gotten in on their first application? If so what was your GPA, and secret? I am finishing up my 10 co-pre requisite courses this semester with Micro and Pharm. Not going to lie, I have struggled a bit in passing in past semesters (making A's currently)... I'm a little nervous about application time. Any advice is welcome. Thank in advance.

I've heard it rumored that these application cycles are so competitive now that they are turning down 4.0 GPA's on the first round and that everyone who made it in for this cycle (Fall '12) was a second-time applicant (or more!)... My advice - if you have the GPA and the financial aid hours available, apply at Texas State and ACC's program at the same time! The prereqs aren't too far beyond the courses required for ACC's program, and you could either spend the semester taking the extra courses or sitting and waiting for an ADN acceptance letter. I've found the admission process with this program to be frustrating, but from what I hear it will pay off - I've read some really comforting things about ACC's program on these forums and I've had a couple of friends graduate from Texas State's program (they really enjoyed it), as well. I'm just thankful that I got in for my second application cycle, as many of the people I was in Nursing Skills with were on their third...
