I'd just like to know more about the program at ATC. I'm currently taking my pre-requisites there, and I don't know weather to take the program there (if I even get into the program), or if I should take it somewhere else. I've heard the program is great, and I have also heard horror stories about it being unprofessional, bad nursing teachers, crappy clinicals, it taking forever to earn your license, etc. I'd just like to know what to expect from someone who attended there! Thanks! :)

I currently attend Augusta Tech (will be starting Nursing courses in August), but don't always believe what you hear. I've worked at GRU and actually got the opportunity to talk to some of the students doing their clinical's there. Nobody had anything bad to say. The only thing I didn't like is that they're not nationally accredited so if you tried working outside of GA, the other state may or may not accept your RN license. Other than that, the program from what I hear is excellent and they have an extremely high passing rate for the examination (higher than other Augusta schools). I plan on doing a bridge program for my BSN afterwards, so I'm not worried about them not being nationally accredited. I think you should apply, and you could always call the counselor (Mrs. Shine) and she'll tell you anything.

I just graduated from Augusta tech. And it was a good program over all. Our class size was small at 26 people. We were very close and currently we have a 100% pass rate right now with 2 people left to take it so worst case scenario for us is 92%. The class before us did not do as well but they had different instructors than we did. We always had one on one time with instructors and hands on instruction. They are very strict and tough but fair. We utilized ATI throughout the program and had to pass the ATI comprehensive at the end. Everyone passed it except maybe 2-3 people. We also had great preceptorships at the area hospitals including cardiovascular units, Joseph m still center burn ICU and various medsurg units. Most importantly we were not just numbers, most students had great relationships with our instructors.
