Hi, I might be attending the LPN program next Sept. I came across your post and I also see that you did not get a response, so now I am asking the same question and wanted to know what the program is like? I started a RN program at the end of August, but had to withdraw in Oct. b/c I could not pass the exams. I was thinking maybe the LPN program won't be so intense, but I read some forums online and the LPN program sounds just as hard, but I still can't find a student who has attended GJCTC, so ..... if had just a tid-bit of time could you let me know how it's goin? Thanks :)

hi, what is gjctc? i failed out of nursing school and i am also looking for a lpn program.
HI! SORRY MY REPLY IS SOOOO LATE, LIKE OVER A MONTH, BUT I'VE BEEN REALLY BUSY AND HAVENT BEEN ON THE SITE FOR AWHILE. ANYHOW, GJCTC IS GREATER JOHNSTOWN CARREER AND TECHNOLOGY CENTER, AND IT'S LOCATED IN MONROEVILLE. IT'S A 12MONTH LPN PROGRAM. I APPRECIATE BOTH RESPONSES I GOT TO MY QUESTION BUT STILL HAVENT SEEN ANYONE ELSE FROM THERE ON THIS SITE. I STARTED IN OCT BUT ONLY HAD TO GO A FEW HRS A WEEK AND NOW I'M FINISHED UNTIL MARCH. REASON BEING, I ATTENDED ANOTHER LPN PROGRAM AND FAILED OUT 5WKS BEFORE GRADUATING. SO TO THE REPLY THAT MENTIONED MAYBE LPN PROGRAM WOULD BE EASIER THEN RN, NOT AT ST MARGARETS! ST MARGARETS HAS STUDENTS DOING THE WHOLE 9, CARE PLANS, KNOWING ALL MED CARDS, ACTIONS OF DRUGS ECT. GJCTC DOESNT SEEM NEARLY AS BAD THOUGH SO THERE IS HOPE!!! THEY ACCEPT ALOT MORE STUDENTS AND THE INSTRUCTORS ARE VERY HELPFUL, I THINK! I WILL KEEP YOU GUYS POSTED AND GOOD LUCK!
hi , thanks, i just interviewed yesterday and i start in their new class on march 1st. i hope it is alittle easier than the rn program i was in, i think i should have started with the lpn program first, let me know what it's like, and how are the clinicals?
thanks

bye bye
the program is easy. Practically a joke to get through.... if you fail, not to worry.... they will push you through anyhow, place patients at risk.... don't worry... they will push you through anyhow... if you have even half a brain you should pass with flying colors... if you are smart.. with all the extra credit opportunties available you should get >100%..... but, be prepared for utter boredom for 12 months... and very little clinical opportunity.

i started the program at the end of October and feel it is a great program. Fast paced so you really have to keep up. Wonderful instuctors!
