Anyone have any experience with this school. I'm trying to get information about there LPN program. Before I take time off work to go there (because it's a good ways from me) I wanted to know if they had a waitlist or required taking a health core program first. Also I wanted to know when the programs start. I''d love to hear any info. you may have! Thanks

Hi,
I personally don't have any experience with Atlantic, but my sister graduated from there & my best friend just started in Oct. 05. It is the only LPN program in Broward w/ no wait list at the moment. They start a new program every 9-12 weeks, & offer both days & night. You have to go & take the tabe test (call for the time). Once you pass the tabe, you go for an info session, & then interview with the program director. Give them a call...Once your accepted, you do your cores in the program not b-fore.
Good luck
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! I've spent about the most frustrating week of my life researching colleges in Broward. I've made the decision and I'm ready to do this and the waitlists were killing me because I'm kind of on a time constraint; on top of the fact that I've callled and called and never been able to get through to anyone and noone's returned my messages! How did your sister feel about the school and what kind of job did she get? Thanks again for being so helpful...now it's a matter of geting some student loans.:uhoh21:
Your welcome! My sister graduated about 4 yrs ago & got a job at a nursing home. She went on to the RN program at BCC the same month she graduated from Atlantic. She does speak very highly of Atlantic. Out of the 3 LPN programs in Broward, Atlantic seems to have the best reputation. My friend who started in Oct is doing very well. She does the night 2p-10p program Mon-Thurs. However, due to hurricane wilma, they have a lot of catching up to do and have to go 6 days a week for the next couple of weeks.
Instead of calling, you should go in their office. You will get a lot more information. The financial aid office there will be able to tell you what type of aid they offer. I think the price for the program is aroung $2400, about $600 each new quarter. My friend brought books for her first semester, it was $194.00.. The coming semesters, the list of books required actually decreased.
Because they have no wait list, it's a first come first serve basis. The sooner you get started, the sooner you start!!
