There wasn't any entrance exam. Make sure u go talk to the nursing director instead of the administrators in the front office bc they will tell you there's a waiting list. I mean u do have to take some prerequisite classes though..

Yeh. Have u been to their website? Atlantatech.edu and just search for practical nursing . Or like I said, go talk to the lpn coordinator.

Hi Missmommy,

I graduated from Atlanta Technical College's LPN program in 2008. It was very chaotic at that time. They had a shortage of teaching staff and clinical sites. We were often rushed through subject matters which l felt we needed more time to digest. Things may have changed since then. If not, make sure you have triplicates of all your student documents, STUDY,STUDY,STUDY, be very patient, and avoid making to many waves and you will pass. They also have an RN program. I would suggest that you get your RN rather than LPN because eventually you will have to obtain it in order to advance and stay marketable. God bless.

Hi there, I recently graduated fall 2012. And to be honest, I felt the same way as well. We were rushed through chapters, and I feel like I learn more by studying the book by myself. But then again about RN vs lpn, if I have a second chance I would still do my lpn first so I can know how nursing is really like and is it really for me, for the shortest time being. Getting into the RN is so much more competitive and longer than lpn. I got my license 3 weeks after graduation and currently just got a job- or at least in my shadowing period. *crossed my fingers* I'll do good so I'd get a job. Because from what I'm seeing, most job offers (rn and lpn) are requiring work experiences which the new grad's doesn't have. So we are pretty much doomed. So much happened to me during the semesters, so I did not managed to have time to have a part time job. But it would be a plus, if you have experiences.

Thank you both for all the information about the program and I do plan on getting my Rn it just seems like every program is so hard to get into that's why I wanted to do my lpn first but I don't want to feel rushed in any program that being lpn or rn and the finding a job thing scares me too.

Hello everyone!! I was trying to get some information concerning the LPN program at Atlanta Tech. I have already taken all the prereq courses that is required for the LPN program. I'm currently at a school that offer the NLN entrance exam and I didn't get into the program because I missed it by 5 points and they only offer the program 2 times out of a year :eek: ... So my question is if I have already taken all the prereq courses can I be directly enrolled to the LPN program and is there a waiting list?
