Hi all! I have just moved back to town after 10 years away and I am trying to get the scoop on nursing here. I have worked different hospitals around town in the past...mostly Grady and St. Josephs. How is Grady these days? I'm sure it is about the same. You either love it or you hate it.I am sure St. Josephs is still a great place to work. Do they still have a 30 bed open heart ICU? Alas, I am living in Kennesaw so those two hospitals may be too much of a commute for me. What agencies are you seeing used in your hospitals? Anyone work at Piedmont in the ICU? That may be an option for me. Does anyone work in the Kennestone ICU? How are things going there?
I miss having nursing buddies and being plugged into a nursing grapevine. Check in and lets chat. I want to hear about where you are working.
I used to live in Kennesaw and worked for WellStar. I would encourage you to look at Kennestone. If post-op hearts gets your jollies off, they are now doing them through an affiliation of somebody downtown, I forgot. Kennestone has several ICUs in addition to the new heart program. WellStar is a pretty good corp to work with and the company gym on the campus at Kennestone rocks.
Let me know how things go.
