I will be graduating in December 2016 and I really want to move to the Atlanta area. But before I make that big decision, I want to have insight from others.
What is the current base rate in the Atlanta area?
What hospitals have the best learning environment?
Also what are the nicer neighborhoods that are still safe?
Does pay differ for med surg nurses?
Which hospitals pay off loans/ pay for continuing education?
Is there a lot to do in the city?

What is the current base rate in the Atlanta area? Depends on your experience, degrees and area you are looking into working. Dept pf Labor web site can give you a good idea but most new grads are starting out around $25/26 in the area.
What hospitals have the best learning environment? Emory, Northside, Gwinnett medical - but others offer as well.
Also what are the nicer neighborhoods that are still safe? Of course..you can look up crime stats for an area online as well.
Does pay differ for med surg nurses? No, other than shift differential.
Which hospitals pay off loans/ pay for continuing education? VERY few & it's usually for specialty areas & w/nurses who have experience..even then its rare.
Is there a lot to do in the city? Tons.
