ATI Help Needed

Published

HI all.

I know I should have posted this a couple of weeks ago....

But Monday is my LVN school's ATI exam, we have to pass it with 75% in order to graduate....this is our last week of class and I am excited, but I am very nervous.

Anyone who has taken the "final" or comprehensive ATI, could you give me pointers of things to study for, or at least be prepared for.

Any tips, even though its last minute, would be mucho grateful.

Thanks:bowingpur

Which test from ATI? The TEAS test?

Hello Mysticalseeker. I wish u the very best of luck on ur ATI. I have taken an ATI test, but not a "final" one. Here's few pointers from the prevoius ATI's I've taken. Know how to calculate meds and know them good, know basic communication skills, know a lot of med surg, know how to analyize a given senario and what to do next (e.g. pt has an IV in R arm. you obsevre distended neck veins, edema, and erythema. What should you do?; BTW the answer is d/c the line and notify the Charge Nurse), know OB and PEDS, know geriatrics. I really hope this helps! Good luck and tell me how u do... :wink2::wink2::wink2::nurse:

I dont know which test NICU....my school is only saying its a "comprehensive" ATI, in fact until a week ago I didnt realize there were several ATIs one could take

Thank you peridotgirl!!!

Now for the meds, did you have any drip rate/infusion questions or was it D/H x Q ?

hello mysticalseeker. Well first let me start off and say that I'm in the LPN program at my high school and we just started last yr in August. Now the ATI test that we take are at our level. that means that the only med questions we r getting on the ATI is basically D/H times Q. Now in terms of a comprehensive ATI test, I'm assuming that means everything that you've learnt in the LVN course. so my answer to ur question is yes. There will be D/H times Q and infusion/drip rate questions. and yes there different types of ATI's and in my program we have to pass every single one of them. If we fail one, we get held back and have to wait to retest again. If we fail an ATI test three times, they kick out of of the LPN program. if u need help or have any other questions feel free to post it here or PM me. :wink2::wink2::wink2::nurse::caduceus:
