Athens vs Augusta vs Gwinnett

I'll be graduating this year with my BSN in December. I'm trying to find good hospitals in Georgia to apply to. I was curious to know how are Athens Regional, Gwinnett Medical (Lawrenceville), and MCG Medical Center are for new grad?

I recently went to Augusta and showed one of the recruiters my resume and she was pleased with it. I'm really hoping to get a job in the ICU. I know those jobs are difficult for new grads but I'm really going to try.

Any other hospitals you guys would advise? Also, when is a good time to start applying?

Hi,

I currently work at St. Mary's in Athens....the other hospital :) Both hospitals are great but hard to "get into" as a new grad, unless they know you. ie. preceptorship done here. I would start the application process NOW if you graduate in Dec....you might not get any bites, but you might. Most apps are online now and kept in a data base for 6 months to a year.

Hope this helps

Thanks for the advice. It seems to weird to start applying for jobs now when I won't graduate for another five years. But I guess it won't hurt to give it a try.
