I was wondering if anyone has taken this class? I figured it would be a helpful way to prepare for nursing school.
If anyone has taken it, was it helpful?
Thanks,
Lisa

What year is it offered? I think it would be good midway into school especially the "rigors of being a nursing student" preparation part. =)
Hello,
You don't need to be admitted into a nursing program to take this class. It's just a 1 unit class, but I am signing up for it, since anything that will help me prepare for nursing school sounds good to me. Since it's just 1 unit, it's only 8 weeks, and I can't imagine that it will be too much work involved. For my prereqs I just need to do A & P (1 and 2) and microbiology.
Also offered at Sac City as well as American River college are a pharmacology class and a medication dosage class. Again, anyone can take these classes (don't need to be admitted into nursing school) , so I will also plan on taking them while I apply to nursing school.

I took Nurse 380 last year. It provided an interesting overview of what to expect during the ADN program, Including a Q and A session with several current nursing students. The instructor also gave a detailed rundown of the selection process used at SCC and ARC.
It's worth noting that the eight-week class includes a short unit on dosage and calculations, which might be valuable to those who have not taken a stand-alone dosage and calculations course.
Overall, I think the class is worthwhile, and since it doesn't require too much work, I'd recommend taking it.
Great!
Thanks for your response!
I am registered to take the class for the second 8 week term, starting in March.
