ASVAB for (Nursing) Officers

Published

I was told by a Navy nurse recruiter that I don't need ASVAB scores to get into the Navy Nurse Corps.

1) Is this true?

2) Does this apply to any other officer positions?

This is what I was told by my Navy recruiter. My understanding is the the ASVAB is not required for officers, only for enlisted. However, I believe that the Army does require it for those applying to the Army Nurse Candidate program because you are technically enlisted while you are in school.

I didn't have to have it. I knew I took it like every other highschooler back in the day but my recruiter said it wasn't relavent.

I am in the Air Force and besides when I took it in high school, I was told it wasn't a requirement for officers.

The Army does require it for those who apply for the Nurse Candidate Program, as mentioned previously.
