Congrats to everyone who got accepted! I'm sure you all will be great nurses!

I was an alternate for Fall 2011 and Spring 2012 and I just got the call on Thursday Dec. 1st that a spot opened up!! BEST DAY EVER! I would love to talk with those of you also starting in the Spring! Can we exchange email addresses or meet up on fb? Thanks! Excited to start and very excited to meet new people!

@Melk62:

Congratulations! I definitely know that feeling. I was actually on the alternate list a couple of years ago and got the call saying "would you like to join the spring 2010 cohort?" the day after my birthday.

As for networking, the proactive Tgirl set up a group for all ASU nursing students:

I just wanted to let you know that there is a group on facebook for ALL ASU nursing students ( you must be accepted into the program to join) - I would recommend joining it so you can have access to other nursing students already in the program! It's a great resource!!! ASU student nurses group SNUG

if you can't find it, shoot me a PM with your name and I'll invite you to the group.

Yea I had a REALLY bad day but that call made it all better : D

I requested to join the group :) Thanks!

Question to those already in the program

How do you go about getting people who live close in your same cohort for carpooling reasons? Are the cohorts just randomly selected? I'm sure most of my questions will be answered at the welcome meeting tomorrow but I am VERY anxious as you can tell! lol. Thanks for any and all help!!!

For junior 1, a lot of our cohorts were arranged by zip codes. I ended up with everyone in my group living in the east valley, which really helped with forming connections and carpools and stuff. After that, there's a carpool sheet you can fill out (but don't depend on it because everyone tries and takes advantage of it) for subsequent semesters.
