Hello, is there anyone who went for the associate degree in a community college first? I changed my degree from international business to nursing. Is someone has tips about which class to take first? I am sure there are classes that are harder then other. I definitely don't want to end up taking too many classes that requires a lot of work.... Also can someone tell me a little about the TEAS Version V Pre-Nursing Exam please?

Most of the prerequisites are time consuming so there is no way to really get around it. I recommend taking Anatomy and physiology together with microbiology, because of the similar subject matter. Chemistry, to me is super hard, and I failed it once before, and when i retook it I got a D. Luckily my ADN program does not require it, so i'll finish that class when its time for my BSN. You just have to study, study. And the teas test is ok. I only studied the night before, and I received a 75. If i would have looked over more, I would have received a way higher grade.

First semester: psych, art, algebra, English 102
second semester: bio for science majors, bio lab, Chem for science majors, Chem lab, dev psych, sociology
third semester: A&P 1, Micro, history, logic (dropped the logic along with half the class. It wasn't hard. Teacher was a petulant infant who got ballsy with the tests)
my my advice is to get it all done as fast as you can. I was accepted to start my ASN program this fall. I still have A&P 2 to take along with statistics but I have all of that planned. And I'll be graduated and working in 24 months time. Good luck.
I didn't take the teas, I took the HESI. If it's anything like the HESI, just study a few weeks before. I made a 96% on it.
Thank you guys. Did any of you manage to do the associate in two years? Because it seems to be impossible, maybe I am wrong. I don't need to take math and computer classes but in the other hand I have to take ESL class.
The whole process can take up to four years, just like a BSN. It's around two years of pre reqs and then two years to do the actual nursing program. You can't go from start to finish and come out a nurse in just two years. I was able to do my pre reqs in three semesters, and then happened to be accepted this may for the fall. If that hadn't have happened, I would have transferred to a 4-year university and done the BSN route since it would have taken the same amount of time for me anyway. For some people if their cards are played right, they can come out working a full 6 months to a year sooner than their BSN counterparts. It's a great option for people who need to get working NOW while they earn higher credentials in the meantime.
Thank you and good luck for Fall. Hopefully I'll be there soon as well.:)

If you pre-req for 4-5 semesters (spring, summer, fall, spring, summer) you can be done within 3 years. But go at a pace you feel comfortable at. No point in cramming a bunch of classes together especially if you find it difficult to retain the info.
I would also recommend taking "easier" courses along with harder ones OR take the easier ones over the summer online, if possible.
Ie. Spr - Chem, Eng1
Su - Eng 2, Psy
Fa - A&P, Sociology
Sp - Micro, Elec (if applicable)
Su - Dev Psych, additional pre-req
Thank you for recommendations

It's not two years. It's three. Your advisor will tell you what order to take the prereqs in. The program itself is two years. The prereqs are usually 3 semesters.
Thanks I wanted to make my schedule before talking to an advisor.
