Just graduated last weekend magna cum laude, degree Kinesiology

but change of mind, now want to go to nursing school,

figured that out after 4 yrs ....

anyway should I go to community college for an Assoc. nursing or to university for BSN

ultimate goal = CRNA

Specializes in SRNA.

I graduated in 04' with my BA in Psych and I'm including two ABSN programs in my Fall 08' applications: Johns Hopkins combined BSN/MSN and Mount St. Marys here in Southern California. The BSN portion of each program is about 13 months, and from the comments of those I've spoken to who have gone through ABSN programs, that time flys by!

If you feel like you've got enough in you (after 4-years and just graduating) to keep on straight through, I would recommend it. There is also the factor that so many ADN programs around the US are wait-listed or lottery-based, so you may wait longer to even get into one than the time it takes to complete the program.

I'm also considering pursuing the CRNA route after sufficient experience in the field, so I know I will need the BSN foundation. Many more accredited CRNA programs require a BSN rather than an MSN at this point. If you haven't already you can check the current education requirements on each program here: http://webapps.aana.com/AccreditedPrograms/accreditedprograms.asp?ucNavMenu_TSMenuTargetID=222&ucNavMenu_TSMenuTargetType=5&ucNavMenu_TSMenuID=6

I say BSN if CRNA is your ultimate goal.
