So i have an upcoming job interview for an assisted living facility. I am a new grad and in school we never did any clinicals in this type of setting. During my conversation with the HR dept( it seemed as if it were more of a phone interview) I told them my prior work experience and they explained what assisted living is and how it differed from being a nurse in a LTC facility. My question is, for any LPN that has been an assisted living nurse, what do you think about working in this type of facility? The HR dept had said it is not as hands on, alot of first aid and assessments adn documenting. Do you learn alot from this type of position. Do new grads normally get hired in this type of facility? Is the pay comparable to that of LTC normally? I am really interested in this position and I hope to do well in the interveiw- and once i learn more about specific duties and more details, if it is a good fit, I hope to land the position. Just wanted peoples insight and any suggestions on how to wow the HR person during the interveiw is greatly welcomed! Thank you!
