Hi everyone,
Im a nursing student from New Zealand in my pre registration placement at a paediatric oncology ward. I have to write an essay on an event that occured while on placement that changed the way I practice. I have no idea what to write about. I know that you all aren't on the ward with me but I thought I'd just try my luck here anyway to see if anyone had any ideas or suggestions that could jog my memory of something that happened. Thanks in advance and good luck with your studies!

Did a child impress you with the way they reacted?
A nurse on the floor show you how to deal with a tough situation, either just by you watching her or by her directly teaching you something?
It doesn't have to be an earth shattering epiphany, even just learning a caring way of doing something, or a gentle method of dressing change, or how to comfort a child.
Write about someone who impressed you with the way they act.
Hope that jogs a few memories.

Let's see...I think Jbudd covered a lot....maybe a family member acted in a way that made you realize you need to treat them differently? Maybe you did have an epihpany, like...working on such a floor might have caused you to change your view on life...and how is that new view on life going to affect you in the long run?
