ASSET or Accuplacer?

Published

So, I'm this total slacker who has been taking courses since I graduated HS in 2006 and have yet to complete a placement test. I'm going to be taking math soon, and of course english 101 and 102 and so forth. Which placement test is preferred? I go to Rio Salado currently... I know when I was in HS they offered the ASSET test. I know it seems like a silly question... I'm planning on taking the test either tomorrow or next week. I'm sure I'll do fine on either one because I was an AP student in high school and still do well in college. Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks! Only 4 more classes until I apply for the nursing program!!

Another question I have is about pharmacy technicians. I noticed that Rio offers a pharmacy tech course that prepares you for certification. I was thinking about doing that while I go to nursing school so I can still make money and work nights while I go to school during the day. Do you guys think it's worth it? It's just a 14 week, 3 credit course. Right now I work retail and make just under $13/hr but we all know how retail is looking as far as job security... Plus with my position I don't have much flexibility as far as my work schedule goes, and going to a full time nursing program will be difficult.

I am seeing less security and less flexibility in the health care industry as well these days. I don't know if i would give up a job making $13/hour with no degree required these days.
