Hello everyone. I am currently a secind semester freshman currently struggling about what to do with life. I wanna be a nurse! But i am unsure if i am good enough. I live in NY and its really competitive. I go to a college that does not offer nursing. I have a 3.469 so far. I cant afford private tuition and attend CUNY. I am confused whether to try and take a chance to get into Cuny york college for nursing or go to brooklyn college and do the pre nursing program that gets you accepted to suny downstate medical center if u maintain a 3.3 and pass the TEAS exam..someone please help..what gpa do you need for accelerated programs?

GPA is only one part of the process to being accepted into nursing school. And it's difficult for us to give advice as to one school or the other as well, simply because we, as a whole, don't know those schools; your best option would be to contact the different schools of nursing and/or the admissions offices of those two schools.
However. One thing that I can and will say in regards to being admitted to nursing school is that you must be able to check your writing. Spelling and grammar are both very important, especially on things like letters of intent and application essays! You can have a perfect GPA, stellar letters of recommendation, but if your letter of intent is filled with text speak, misspelled words, or missing punctuation? That can and will knock your standing with the admissions committee down. So when it comes time to apply, always have somebody review what you're sending in.
