hello i am a high school student. i want to become a

RN, but a CNA course is available through my high school. should i take it? would it look good on my college application? would i be one step ahead of the game? thank you:redpinkhe

Yes, defiantly. Being a CNA, although some **** work, will give you a great edge on various nursing programs and wither or not you really should be a nurse. Frankly if you can do CNA work and love it you will love to be a nurse. It also helps with employment down the line and I worked at a local hospital as a CNA and got several job offers and they were great about my schooling demands.

Yes, take the course. Some nursing programs require that you have a CNA course taken as a requirement to get into their RN classes. In many places the cost of a CNA class can be hundreds of dollars as well, so take it while it's free in high school. Then, make sure you take the certification exam in your state once you complete the course. Once you are a certified CNA you can also work as a CNA to make extra money for school. Some places that employ CNAs offer tuition reimbursement to their CNAs which helps them pay for their college tuition as well.
