ASN to BSN

hey everyone! i just graduated from the university of st. francis (ft. wayne) with my asn and i'm looking to go back in the fall for my bsn. does anyone have any suggestions for the best program or one that is the shortest in length for northeast indiana?? st. francis is a private universtiy and is just too expensive-i started out in the bsn but switched before clinicals started cause student loans really add up. i'm looking into ipfw, ball state, and iwu. any information will be appreciated.

Since I'm not sure where you live, I'll just tell you about the ones I know about. Indiana University of South Bend has a BSN completion program that takes approximately two years. Classes are around $200 a credit hour. I just started back to get my BSN and I am taking classes through the hospital I work for. Goshen College comes to our hospital one night a week. The program is 19 months long and we don't have to do clinicals. Total cost is 13,000, but when you think about it that isn't too bad, because the hospital helps pay for it and the books are included. What about an online course? I checked in to those and I was considering it until they offered this program at my hospital. Bethel college also has a BSN program, but they are kind of expensive. Good luck!

All of the state schools have distance rn-bsn. I am going through USI for my RN-MSN right now, will be done next May.

I would just send off for all of the state schools' program info, evaluate which would be best for you, and go for it!

I think all the state schools' tuition costs are pretty comparable.

Can you tell me what hospital you work in? Do you have any idea if Memorial or St. Joe in South Bend do this? I'm in school for my ASN now, but if I know which hospitals do this, I would be interested in working at those hospitals.

Can you tell me how you liked the USI program? I have read a lot about it on their website, but that doesn't give you the inside info.;) I would love to know the pros/cons, or if you would go there again if given the chance.

I just graduated this past May from IU Kokomo's RN to BSN program. VERY, VERY flexible program! I loved it! The class only meets 7-8 times a semester, and there is no testing, just papers and projects. Very enjoyable experience!
