I am a CNA at a nursing home and I am to the point where I wanna ask for a little raise because I have proved myself and continue to do so and the pay I get now is just embarrassing. How long should I wait til I talk to my employer about that? Any Suggestions??

How long have you been at your job? Have you already received any raises, if so, when was your last one?
Normally you won't get a raise your first year, and then raises are assessed annually thereafter based on your performance evaluation.

Are you part of a union? If you are part of a union, your raises are dictated by the union laws. Sometimes it also depends on what your contract stated. If you just got of orientation and are due for a raise post orientation, then you would need to submit paper work. If you have been at your job for a year and are up for an evaluation, depending on your scores would also dictate how much of a raise you would get. It is not something that you could usually ask for a set amount, most organizations have specific guidelines.
