Just curious on what CRNA's think about army anesthesia. I am strongly considering joining the army STRAP program for SRNA students. Specifically, anybody who has spent time in Iraq or Afghanistan.

Hi. I would be happy to share what I know. I am currently enrolled in the program at Fort Sam. If you PM me I will be happy to give you the down low. I am not army but I work side by side with them every day. We had a guest speaker this week who had just come back from Iraq and had alot to share with the class.

I have one even better for you. I was a military ICU nurse. I transferred over to the U.S. Public Health Service . We are a branch of the uniformed Services with all the benefits etc.. (Remember the C Everett Koop in his uniform-with a beard haha). I went to a military CRNA program USUHS (Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences) with Army,Navy and Air Force CRNA's. They paid for everything, including my O-4 salary. My obligation is working on a Indian reservation in New Mexico. I love it. I work alone. I retire in 2 years with the exact retirement/benefits as the military. Its a great deal without all the deployments. I did my share of military deployments.
