Arkansas State University CRNA 2023

Updated:   Published

Hey, so I didn't see one of these created, and there's been one every year.  I know the deadline was October 1st so it's pretty recent, but if anyone else has applied and heard back yet, I'd be interested to hear when you're interviewing. The email said next month so I'm assuming that means November. Thanks and good luck!

Can anyone who interviewed let us know how the interview was and what type of questions they asked? Reading previous cohorts posts it seems to change a little every year.

Hey y'all,

I was looking to apply in a few years. For those of you that have interviews and acceptances, can you tell me some of your stats? What do your resumes look like? I am extremely worried to apply in the future. I Did poorly on my first degree, Biology. Like maybe a 2.1. But, I am working on finishing a BSN with a 4.0. I will be starting work in a trauma ICU and I'm not sure what else I should do to beef up my application. Or should I just give up?

thanks in advance

I got an interview for here and two other schools. I only interviewed for one because I was accepted on the spot after my interview. I did poorly on my undergrad as well, I started with a Bio for Majors degree because I wanted go into med school originally. Anyways, long story short, I failed one full semester of like 16 credits that tanked my GPA. It would have taken 74 credit hours of getting all As to being my cumulative GPA of 2.83 to a 3 with how many credit hours I had after I finished nursing school...

My advice to you is to 1. Don't give up. 2. Start retaking your sciences and maths (Algebra, Chemistry) to get As if you already haven't. 3. Start taking graduate level courses (Astate required the Stats class so definitely take that!). Also take Advanced Pathophysiology and Advanced Pharmacology. If you get As in all three of those courses, this will show the admissions that you have changed your ways and you are prepared for graduate work. This is what landed me my interviews in my opinion.

Other stats: 31 years old, last 60 credit GPA 3.7, Science and Math GPA 3.25, almost 7 years experience in a little bit of all ICU specialties (Traveler for 6 years), except for Peds and Burn ICU.

@txgypsymurse thank you so much for the advice. I will try to keep myself going.

Did anyone have to choose between A-State (Arkansas) versus UAMS? Anyone willing to private message about it?
