Hi all!

I applied for Fall 2019 semester for ASU's DNP program. Wondering if there was anyone else out there?

I haven't submitted it yet. I need some documents before doing so. Is it really hard/competitive to get into the whnp program? I am applying for the parttime.

I’m not really sure. I applied for PT too! Still haven’t heard anything. When did you graduate from ASU? I graduated in 2005.

I graduated in 2015. Been trying to find the right time for this. Excited and nervous at the same time.

I called about a month ago and they said they were going through them. I called about a week ago and they said they were still going through them. I hope we hear something soon. I was starting to look at other programs. What were you hoping to study/specialize in?

Specializes in Cardiology, Progressive Care.

Update: I received my decision letter on Monday for the FNP specialty. I did not get in. The University of Arizona offered me admission awhile ago, so I am all set for a Fall 2019 start.

Good luck to the rest of those still waiting!

So sorry about ASU, but I’m so glad you Had U of A In your pocket!

Was it it an email or a actual letter?

i have not heard anything. Starting to look into other programs.

Specializes in Cardiology, Progressive Care.

It was an email that I received.

Sorry that you have not heard anything yet. I would think you will soon.

Thanks! Best of luck to you!

Update: Still haven’t heard anything. Have reached out for info on a few other programs. Some allow you to get a MSN, sit for boards and then you’re directly admitted to their DNP program.

Found out today, via email that I was not admitted. It said it was a competitive pool. I asked 1. How many applied 2. How many were accepted and 3. What I can do to improve. The response Really didn’t answer any of my questions. I’m pretty bummed.

I am so sorry Ebrenner ? I also wanted more information, but not enough answers were provided. Hope you find a better program.

Do you have any other program in mind? If you dont mind me asking, when did you submit your application to asu?

I submitted the day it opened. My last letter of rec went in on 9/17/18. I was very disappointed that they waited so long to send rejections vs sending those out much earlier.

I have two other programs in mind and will apply to those.

I think my goals, plan and population of interest don’t align with their agenda. I see on social media pretty regularly that they are focusing on rural areas and the ‘underserved’ population. I want to specialize in reproductive endocrinology/infertility services and had a solid application package in addition to being alumni and meeting admission requirements. I wasnt’given any explanation other than I ‘wasn’t competitive,’ when I inquired for an explanation. Also disappointing.
