In the last week, U of AZ has posted a change to their programs. They have dropped their 2nd degree BSN and have added a mepn program (master's entry to the profession of nursing (mepn) pathway). This is available to those who already have a non-nursing bachelor's degree.
I called to get more info. They said tuition would probably run between 35-45k(depends on residency status). They will start having info sessions on the new program starting at the end of this month.
Which hospital will you be at? Also do you have transportation? Preference in cost?
These will all play in your decision of where to live.
Your best bet if you want to be near UofA is to find someone looking to rent a guest house near UofA; there are plenty off of mountain. Check craigslist for listings. There sure are plenty!
Any luck finding housing? I have secured a place for the summer but will be looking for a more permanent location come fall after I can get a feel for the area. I am just leaving Tucson to go back home...I connected with another MEPN student and we signed a lease for a condo. I kind of wish I had just sub-let for the summer to learn the area as well, but we really liked this place and took the plunge. I look forward to meeting you in class in a few weeks!!
PS the girl I signed the lease with is the only other person I know going
If anyone needs any help with anything, I am a Tucson resident. I've only been here 3 years, but I still may be able to help.
Also, to anyone still waiting and reading this thread, there is still hope. I've talked with a few ladies currently in the program and many of them were on the alternate list and didn't get in until much later. :)
Are you guys overwhelmed with getting things together for the program ? Housing, the right shoes, all the shots etc? Good luck on your journey guys. I was starting to regret not going to my interview at U of A and then got accepted to a program in Henderson NV. Yeah! We will all be nurses soon

Can anyone offer any advice on where to live in Tucson? I want to be by campus but have no idea about neighborhoods/roommates.
