Arizona LPN programs near chandler??

Published

I was wondering if anyone can help me with getting info on LPN programs near my home. I live in Chandler, AZ. I am having a hard time finding programs on the computer, everything comes up everett, or phoenix. Are there not any other programs offered anywhere else? Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

The only one I know of in the East valley is E.V.I.T. They have a vocational LPN program. Maricopa skills center would only take about half an hour to get to...but probably longer in traffic. Hope that info helps....

Thank you so much!! I was wondering about EVIT but I wasn't sure if it was just for seniors in high school. I am in my 30's and starting a new career, do you know if EVIT is just for soon to be graduating seniors? Thanks again. Soory if that seems like a really silly question.....

No, it's not. I called once a couple of years ago and Im 30 something as well. Just call and ask to speak to whoever you need to in the LPN program...they were really nice to me and sent me info right away! Good luck!

I am currently going to Maricopa Skills Center. If you can try to find any other program than this. Short of one teacher, the whole school is a joke. I feel like I wasted six months of my life on a waiting list to get into this joke of a school. If you are a serious student I would work on my prereqs/coreqs for your RN and try to find a real LPN program. The wait may be longer, but I think it will be worth the wait. I don't mean to sound so negative but I just can't help it. MSC sucks!

I am currently in Maricopa Skills Center, it is a Maricopa Community College, and this is nursing school, not a walk in the park. Block 0, is going well, and we lost 3 students out of 45, and so far everyone is passing. We have 3 instructors now, and things are going smoothly, it is what you make of it! :D I am married with a family, and I work part time, so time management skills are needed!

As for financial aid, the Maricopa Community Colleges are switching over to a different system! And with every new system there are glitches! All loans and grants are going to distributed, but will take some time. ASU currently uses the same system, and when they switched over it took 3 months for students to receive their funds. So my advice is to be patient, it will work out.

The school is not a joke, the past 3 years the PN-NCLEX pass rate has been 99%, and remember the PN program is a Maricopa Community College, not just a random center.

Good luck to all the future nurses!

Just out of curiosity, does EVIT have a waiting list for their vocational LPN program ? Can the certificate transfer after completion ?

I really have no idea about a waitlist. I didn't get past the phone call to them as it just was too far for me to travel. As far as transfering...what exactly do you mean? Do you mean, can you go on to get an R.N? Well technically yes, given you have completed your pre-req's. It's not a certificate program, it's a vocational program where you actually will sit for your PN license after completion. That will be through the state board of nursing. You would be a licensed practical nurse at that point.

I have really been researching this as well. I actually am going to the Maricopa Skill Center next month, but I know that most of the CC's around here have huge wait lists, so maybe you might consider the drive to MSC~if you want to get in quicker. I know they are still accepting people for the Jan class and the May class. Next info session is this Wed 12/10. http://www.maricopaskillcenter.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=17&Itemid=26 :)
