You can work pretty much anywhere in the hospital as a CNA: L&D, ICU, ER, etc. And don't let the whole "need one year of experience" thing discourage you. I got a hospital job as a CNA right off the bat as well as the majority of aides I work with (and I work at a large magnet status teaching hospital). If you get an interview in a hospital definitely mention that you are planning on nursing school (if you are), because they will see you as an investment and that will only help your chances of getting the job! Good Luck!

Hello. My name is Melanie and I am considering taking a local CNA certification course. I want to get a job as a CNA while going part-time to school as well. I know this may sound like a stupid question but do CNA's work in L&D and neo-natal. Those are my two areas of interest in which I will be picking from to eventually pursue my RN.
