Are all schools alike?

Published

I am just wondering if some schools are harder than others? TTC states you must have an 81 average on all tests with a 90 or above on the ATI and 100 on the medcalc test. Also I have heard they test you once to twice per day????

Thanks in advance for any imput

Wow... compared to my program yours seems like a nightmare! Our test requirements is a minimum 76 with a 100 on chem-cal test before we go to clinicals. We do not require you to pass finals to continue in the program, you just need a simple average of your major exams and final exam to equal a 76. You could make a 90 average on major exams and a 62 average on final and still be in the program, as long as it is averaged to a 76 before counting daily grades! Also, we have three-four tests per week, not per day - I couldn't imagine two-three tests per day, unless you're talking about quizzes, which isn't so bad.

We have 6 tests per semester and the final exam. We have to have a 78 average or better to move on. We do lots of quizzes/ATI/careplans but none of them count for any portion of our grade. Clincals are a pass/fail basis and if you don't pass clinicals you can't move on.

We have at least a test a week, usually more like 3, and we need to maintain a 74 average to pass...we also can miss up to 30 hours of classroom and 2 clinical days per rotation before we get kicked out of the program. I believe that the standards get tougher as the program goes on though...I think it's pretty fair, I honestly have a hard time understanding how people fail entire classes...we have so many tests that you can fail a pretty good chunk of them, or even the midterm or final, and still move on....
