Are there any resource for starting a DME company

Published

I am looking for information on starting a DME company. There are a few nurses that got into this field and are doing great. I know there is a company in Phoenix that actually helps with developing your own DME company.

Has anyone heard of this company?

Please forgive, but what is DME?

Sounds pretty adventurous! You'd need to start with one specific type of DME equipment like pain pumps or oxygen concentrators. Might need to see where there's an issue needing to be addressed with currently fielded DME. Apria dominates around here. They aren't flawless and are so big they couldn't care less so that would be an advantage. Of course you'd need warehouses, trucks, drivers, phone staff, accounting staff, mainenance staff, marketing, lots of DME, and cash to name a few.

Please forgive, but what is DME?

Durable Medical Equipment. Basically, medical supplies for patients, such as wheelchairs, bed pans, shower chairs, caths, etc.

I was just talking to a nurse, who found out about a company in scottsdale called The International Trader. They actually take all the risk. They supply the products and stock them. I heard this company work with quite a few doctors in the valley helping them form DME companies and they became really successful. I think I'm going to check them out. Direct Patient Care is breaking me down. It time for a change.
