Are there any online A&P or Microbiology classes available?

Nursing Students Online Learning

Does anyone know of any online/distance education Anatomy & Physiology or Microbiology classes that are available?

I am currently living in Italy but trying to get some pre-requisite courses completed via the internet before we return to the States and I begin nursing school.

Thanks for any input and advice!!

Does anyone know of any community colleges in CA that offer these classes online. Colorado Community College looks great but the prices are a bit much for out of state?!

Use http://www.cvc.edu/ to search for online courses in California. If the class is offered at a community college where you have no history, you're going to have issues trying to register because these classes are extremely impacted. I gave up trying to get into Micro, so I ended up going with Rio Salado in Arizona. Expensive, yes, but their classes start numerous times throughout the year. If you work full-time, check to see if your job offers tuition reimbursement. I just took the plunge because I wanted to be able to apply to MSN program this year. If I had tried to establish history at a California CC first, I would have had to wait another year. You just have to evaluate how more time you want to spend on prerequisites and how soon you want to start applying to your chosen programs.

edukan.org

Edukan is a consortium of community colleges in the state of Kansas. The classes offered through edukan are online, and they show up on your transcript as from one of the community colleges. So, if your university accepts classes from the participating community colleges, they will accept the classes from edukan.

I heard that a few classes require a one time on-site lab; so be careful when you sign up. I took A&P online through them, as my A&P from university was too old to count.

When I took it (6 years ago or so), they required a PC; you could not test or run a lot of the lab software if you used a Mac (which I did not know, nor did they tell me, when I enrolled). So if you have mac, you might need to get a pc to participate in these classes.

I don't know how expensive it is, but it will be hundreds of dollars a credit hour cheaper than university based classes or private college classes. I think I paid $115 a credit hour.
