Hi!
I am also applying for Cohort 49. I haven't taken the TEAS yet but I am scheduled to take one at SDSU on 7/16/16.
Which cohort did you apply to previously? I've never heard of the cut off being that high! Also, how did you do onthe essay/any tips? I haven't taken a writing class in 4-5 years but it used to be one of my strongest subjects so I'm hoping it won't be too difficult.
This past one, cohort 48. I'm torn, not sure if I should apply this month or wait for October deadline. The only difference will be extra time to study for TEAS and I'm not sure I need that much extra time.
Yes, I spoke to the nursing department and the scores were very high, I didn't stand a chance í ½í¸’. I have to try again though! On the essay I received a 4/5, not too bad. Everyone gets a different question and mine basically asked what would I do to be successful in the nursing program. All I can say is write from the heart. I don't want to say they'll be too strict but they want to see you're able to complete a well organized paragraph. Five paragraphs including intro and conclusion. Make sure your grammar and spelling are good and it should be a piece of cake! I don't think you should worry about ití ½í¸ƒ
Have you you started studying for the TEAS? I have to start studying again.
I was under the impression that is you were denied one cohort you had to skip the next one? But maybe i have been misinformed.
A 4/5 is good! I am not too worried about the essay portion.
I have the ATI TEAS Study Book and I have read/studied it front to back. Prior to studying at all i took the practice exam you can buy online and I scored a 80%. I am hoping to score in the high 80s on the exam to be in a comfortable spot with points..

Well I heard that also but I asked the nursing department and she said I could apply but recommended I should wait until October so that I could have more time to study.
Good job! That's not bad for your first practice test. I was thinking it's probably worth it to get those. The math is what kills me. I know how to solve most problems but I always get the wrong answer, it's so frustrating.
Do do you know how to calculate the points? I thought I did but the way I was doing it gave me a different result from what the nursing department gave me.
Oh okay. My counselor told me my points were 32.5/32.5/16. I plan to do way better on the TEAS ofcourse and I hope that will make me competitive. I would love to retake one of my courses, where I received a C, but it's such a process through Mesa and my couselor told me I have to go to the board for them to approve it. I don't understand why they make it so complicated.
what have you calculated your points to be?

Hello!
First time user! I was wondering if there was anyone applying for NU cohort 49. This would be my second time applying for this program and I have been wondering if this would be a good time or when it would be good to apply again. The cohort I applied for was very competitive, the cut-off was 89 points!! Normally it's at about 82-83 points I believe. My final score was 80.7. I am interested in retaking my TEAS since I scored an 80% the first time to raise my score.
I would like to know applicants gpa and teas score if they've already taken it.
Excited to hear from you 😃
