Are My Stats good enough to get me into an Accelerated Nursing Program?

Undergrad School: Brooklyn College, B.S. Biology

Age at application time: 22

Cumulative Undergrad GPA:

Undergrad Science GPA: 3.05

GRE: Will be taking in a month

Shadow Hours:

20 – Primary Care PA-C

4 – ED PA-C

4 – Hematologist MD

4 – Endocrinologist MD

LOR: 2 Professors, 1 MD or PA

Direct Patient Care: 300+ hours (assisting nurses, nurse practitioners, and residents)

Health Care: 250+ hours, hopefully I can accumulate more as I am planning on looking to become a medical scribe

Volunteer: 900 hours at Islamic Community Center

Schools Applied: Planning on applying to Stony Brook, PACE, LIU, and NYU.

Depends on the program. Ask them where you fall in a typical applicant pool.

You need to look at specific programs. Some of them don't even consider letters of recommendation, volunteer hours or health care experience. Also a lot of schools don't use the GRE for nursing programs so you will want to look into that as well.

Honestly, the only way you can know is to look at program guidelines. Other than that,asking a crystal ball would be as accurate as asking this forum.

It really depends on the program. Some programs look at GPA while others look at healthcare experience. It is best to look at the website for the statistics of the accepted students and if you can't find any then you should email the program.
