As a student I have been precepting on the floor and recently had 2 older gentlemen with papilloma virus in their throat and having microlaryngoscopsy to remove them is this becoming a more widespread incident or was it just ironic that there were two patients in two weeks. Any thoughts or info would be great.

I am not a public health nurse nor an OB/GYN nurse but I will put my in. HPV can be spread from mother to baby during lady partsl birth. Although rare, papilloma virus can set up shop in the throat. Maybe this is how these two older gentlemen contacted HPV of the throat? As far as I know I have not cared for anyone with this problem.
