Are there LPN's in your PICU?

Published

Hi! I also have this in the PICU forum, but I think I can get more responses here. I am just wondering if you have LPN's in your PICU. I ask b/c I was watching a program where they were following nurses in one and there was a LPN. Just curious. Thank you very much!

if it was on MSNBC, i think i saw that one too, and I think that they said that LPN had been one for years. i remember thinking the same thing... 'lpn in picu?'

i think it depends on the LPN and how much experience they had in that area. even though its not a PICU, one of our local hospitals has two lpn's in their ICU... but they have like, 20 years experience and are sharper than a lot of the RN's there.

Yup it was the one on MSNBC. It kind of blew me away because I have rarely heard of LPN's in units like the PICU. Good for her (and all of them) though. Thanks for replying!
