Are these good pre-NCLEX scores?

Published

Hi ya'll. I just graduated and am working on my NCLEX. Currently I am doing Hurst and Saunders 6th edition. Are these scores good?

Hurst

Q-Review 1: 69%

2: 54% (made the mistake of doing it on X-mas)

3: 70%

I still have 3 more to do

Saunders

100 question exams online

1: 76%

2: 69%

3: 69%

4: 71%

5: 48% (purposely chose to do 100 SATA questions)

6: 76%

I also did a 180 question Kaplan exam and got a 71%

I'm due to take the NCLEX on Monday. I hoping the scores are good. Thank you!

I don't believe any of those are passing scores, am I right? I believe, the computer determines after the minimum number of questions, how close you are to 75%. It's all dependent upon number of questions answered vs number of right answers given.

I would reference the website for the most up to date information. It's also about how prepared you feel to pass- if you feel comfortable with those scores to pass then that's all that matters.

On Hurst it says 67%. Doesn't say anything on Saunders

I took hurst and I believe they stated that most of their students who passed the first time on nclex was scoring 82/125 on qreviews.

I was scoring 75s and the highest I got was 80%. Took the nclex and passed with 75 questions (thank God!)

Just keep doing questions everyday and make sure you review the rationale. Focus on where you lack content. Good luck and keep us posted!

Where are you finding 67% for HURST? My HURST review book (Dec 2015 live review) says "a median score [for all 6 Q-Reviews] of 84/125 is common among students who pass first time. If you are not scoring close to this number, you should study some more."

Good luck!! There's also the NCLEX Mastry app, which is awesome!

84/125 = 67.2%

84/125 = 67.2%

LOL fair point!!! see how the rest go!

LOL....sorry if they came across as blunt. I understand the content and doing 200 questions a day. Plus doing the RN crush app. Blah....I hope I get better ones on my next three

no, no, haha - my brain is totally fried and I didn't even register that that's what it would work out to be!

I'm still waiting on my ATT but my state outsources for the credentialing piece and they haven't even sent my stuff to Pearson Vue yet. sigh. Really wanted to get done ASAP..!

With those scores I think you will definitely pass the NCLEX. Especially with Hurst that's what helped me pass. Just remember to take your time and have confidence. You know your stuff. It's impossible to know everything as a new grad. Remember that they just want to know that you're a safe nurse.

Do you have any idea how long it would take? I got mine faster than I thought I would. But there's only two testing locations (one 1.5 hrs away and the other 4 hrs away) and they were both filled till after the 1st.

It's impossible to know everything as a new grad.

Oh you are soooo true! I'm learning more disease processes/illness/tx options now than I did in school with the Hurst and Saunders. I do a little happy dance when I get them right too. It's all about breaking the words down and eliminating the obvious wrong answers.

However.....I do still have my moments were I misread the question and chose the wrong one and then kick myself in the butt while reviewing. And....I have changed my answer a time or two (I know...big no-no). My scores would be better if I quit being a moron. :nailbiting:
