Are casual staffers eligible for ST disability benefits?

I work regularly as a casual staffer, usually putting in between 24-40 hours a week. Now I find I may need surgery and will at the very least be put on medical restriction. Does anyone here have experience with or know about collecting short term disability benefits while working casual? I don't even know of I'm eligible but I'm looking into it.

You would have to check with your hospital policy about whether or not you get that benefit, but if you're PRN, most likely you are not covered unless you pay for the insurance yourself.
