Are advertising scrubs next?

Published

Saw on the news that they are considering putting advertisements on the side of school buses. Hope the hospital administrators don't catch wind of this.

Before you know it, we will be wearing "Coca Cola" logos on the back of our scrubs. "Goodyear Tires" down one pant leg and "Kotex maxi pads" down the other.

I can see it going even further: How about describing product merchandise before we use it. Standing up straight in presentation mode while lovingly holding the product. "This lovely soft under garment is made of 100% blah, blah, blah and can be yours for the low price of $12.99/dz"

At my PCP's office the rolls of paper they use on the exam tables have "Cialis" all over them. I can very easily see gowns, sheets, blankets, water pitchers, and yes, even scrubs with advertising, especially if the hospitals get them free. Follow the money.

The Tech school that I went to for CNA had scrubs with the school logo on that they sold. From what I got told you had to wear those for the RN program so people would know you were only a student nurse.

I already am a walking bill board - "Rosey's Hometown Hilton." And I had to pay to have that embroidered onto my scrubs. Seems to me like there is something wrong with that!!!! The hospital should be paying me to embroider their name on MY scrubs!!
