Arapahoe Community College

U.S.A. Colorado

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone could tell me about their experience, recent or current, with the nursing program at Arapahoe Community College.

How is/was your experience with it?

Did/Do you like the program?

What was your schedule like, at least for the first year in the program?

How many students were left at graduation time?

Where did you do your clinicals and what were the hours?

I apologize for all the questions, but I really would like to know more about this program as I am highly interested in it, but I could not find much about it in my online research, or at least from recent experiences.

Thanks in advance!

Arika,

LOL, I see you were asking about the program. Well ignore my last long winded post lol! It's a good program in my humble opinion and of course I don't have anything else to compare it to. I feel like the instructors are there to help you succeed, grow, and learn. I have come a long way from pre-reqs to fundamentals through med surge 1 and 2 and now 3. I have had clinicals in the suburbs as well as the inner city. Suburbs is all elective knee replacement patients for the most part haha. In the city, I had gunshot pts, stabs, withdrawal, and everything in between. The program is set up to hard in my opinion in order to ultimately pass the NCLEX. ACC supposedly has a high pass rate for the NCLEX. I believe only 1 person from my cohort has been dropped from the program as this person failed 2 classes. Fail 2 = drop from the program. 77% is pass, 76% is fail. I felt bad. Its a lot of clinical hours, study hours, and $$$. I hope that person is doing ok. 1 other person I believe deferred to the following semester. Any other questions specifically I can help with, please let me know.
