APU LVN to BSN Inland Empire Spring 2018

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

I haven't seen a topic started. I am in the process of applying to APU LVN TO BSN program for January 2018 for the Inland Empire campus.

Here is some background information. I previously applied for Fall 2017, I was still in the process of finishing micro so I knew I probably would not get in. Also they were in the process of going back to 24 month program instead of 20 months, so I also wanted to wait for that.

I have now finished all prereqs, spoke to Patricia the admission rep and she said since I had interviewed with Dr. Kay in July already that I would not have to interview again. She said someone would be contacting me about when I could take the competency exam.

She has me calling student accounts so that I have everything ready and nothing postponing the process.

I originally wanted to start in the summer but the ie campus only has Spring and fall start dates.

Anyone else applying to the inland empire campus for spring 2018?

Hello..Such a bummer I thought IE Campus has 3 starts as well & it will change to 24 mos instead of 20 mos! I was planning on applying for the May start. I am currently in Micro with APU Online and my last class will be done end of December Org chem -___- I did not want to wait until Sept 2018...but how did the interview process go? Since they stated you will be waiting for a phone call for the competency test that means you got in right? I am just very excited I have one class left after Micro and impatient! Any advice would be so helpful :)

I also don't want to wait a year 2 start. The interview if I'm being honest wasn't that bad, it did scare me a little when she was describing the work load. She asked a lot of question about my personal life, my kids and my support system; she asked about my job and if I would be able to quit or cut my hours. I did micro, o chem and physio at UC online also.

I guess I'm in she did say I still needed to do the competency (fyi it cost $300 and we pay for that) and I needed to get Financial aid in order so nothing would prevent me from starting. I'll keep you updated on what happens though. You should think about applying even though you are not finished. I'm just so ready to start, it's been a long time to get to this point.

Just spoke to student financial services the loans will only cover half the program. They don't know how much I'll qualify for in grants so I will have to get an outside loan to cover the rest.

Oh goodness I was hoping financial aid covered it...But thank you for the information. I am going to start gathering my packet together to apply now. Does not hurt to have it ready. Good Luck you!! Yea from my understanding if you are invited to do the competency test you are in. Also good to know it cost $300 out of pocket...I guess September start is best lol I have some saving to do! Thank you!

Hey All,

So even though I was told I would not have to interview, I did have to interview. I did my interview on Monday October 16. I thought the interview went well. I was told by the director that the board was meeting on Wednesday to determine what students will be accepted, I have been checking my email like a crazy person waiting to find out if I've been accepted or not. I read on another thread that when you log into CAS, click on the studet center tab and look at application status and there is a green dot; that is a a good sign, so of course I went on to check and yes my application status is showing a green dot, but I would rather hear fom the school but my hopes are little more up.he week before Thanksgiving and orientation will be held December 7.

Best wishes to all of you who applied

Also I was told that the compentcy exam should take place t

Well, I received the email, that I have been invited to take the competency exam...... I GOT IN THE RN PROGRAM

I take my competency exam on Nov 6....

Hi Kikabug,

My name is Rebecca and I also have been accepted to take the competency exam on November 6th. I am so happy I found your page! I wanted to reach out and see if there were any others on here that will be in the Jan 2018 start date. Very exciting! I noticed you mentioned you already spoke to financial aid, and wanted to ask who you contacted? I was a little nervous of how much grants/school loans will cover. Any information is helpful. I look forward to meeting you on Monday : )

Hi Rebecca,

My name is Arkilia (Kiki), I'm so glad you found my page. I was getting nervous, I kept thinking where is everyone; I know I'm not the only one..... Lol. I spoke to Michelle, all she could tell me is that financial aid will not cover the whole program only about half. She couldn't tell me how much in grants I would get in grants. I have to wait to get my email address. I'm guessing that will happen after the competency exam results. Not sure though. I have so many ququestions i want to ask them. It seems all very top secret, they don't really tell you to much information.

Sorry so long. Can't wait to meet you on Monday!!!!!!í ½í¸í ½í¸

Hi ladies I'm the cohort above you at the IE Campus and welcome! My advice for 1 semester is be prepared for a lot of out of pocket costs such as uniforms and testing platforms. The books are about 1000 dollars but I went on amazon and bought them and it only cost me 650 but with amazon it's a hit and miss. APA is your new best friend and they will be ensuring you do it correctly. Lots of prayers
