U.S.A. Michigan

Published

Hi everyone,

Tomorrow I have an appt with Jenni at Baker College in Clinton Township for the Nursing Program. May I ask those who are in the program or who have graduated from it some questions??

First, How long is the program?

Is it a m-f day time schedule?

Those that graduated, how is the pay in this area?

i am intersted in either the Rn or LPN, what is the main difference besides one year and two year?

Thanks to you all for your help...

Hi I have finished the pre-reqs and now I am waiting for acceptance. I can answer some of the questions until the current nursing students come on.

First, How long is the program? It depends. It is around 3 years if you go full time on the pre-reqs. I think it may be just under 3 years all together. It may take longer it depends on when you are accepted into the program. It is very competitive they only take 40 students in the Fall and 40 in the Spring. This time around there was over 200 applicants for 40 spots, that is what they told me when I called the admission office anyways. =(

Is it a m-f day time schedule? The pre-reqs you can pick and choose what days you go, the actual nursing program is during the week but the days vary and are decided by the nursing office.

Those that graduated, how is the pay in this area? ........ I hear $18+ for LPN, $25+ for RN but someone in the field can tell you more.

i am interested in either the Rn or LPN, what is the main difference besides one year and two year? The LPN is not offered at the Clinton Township campus only at Auburn Hills. I think the LPN is one less year. Baker is hopefully going to start up a LPN to RN bridge program soon. There are a few differences in the pre-reqs so you may want to check with the advisor.
