  1. School starts here on the 26th of August, so excited AND nervous at the same time. Good luck to us all.
  2. Hi, wanted to also let you know about the 6,000 for your spouse. It is free to us military spouses. Wasnt sure if you knew about it or not, go to military one source.com to find out more info on it. We are in Michigan and hopefully moving back to texas in a year. I am starting in the fall here for my pre-req for nursing, spoke with CTC at Ft hood area and they said there is no pre-req for LPN course there, so, I might try for the RN if I have them all or just do the bridge myself down the road. Good Luck to you and your wife, take care and stay safe and THANK YOU for your service and THANK YOU to your wife for hers too!!! APril C proud military wife and mom

  5. Hi everyone, Thanks for taking a look at my post. I have heard some good things about Davenport in Warren, specifically the LPN program. Is it hard to get it? Also, what are the pre-requirmenets? Thanks for any advice offered... Any good or bad things to say about davenport or baker or occ is appreciated april
  6. mrsrlg, where are you going to school? Also, how is the funding for financial aid? thanks, april
  7. Thanks for all the advice...i have decided to go to OCC and start my pre-requisites. I hope to apply to the LPN program out of Southfield the next time around. Wish me luck... April
  8. Hi everyone, I am need of some help here, I went and spoke to a counselor at Baker in Auburn Hills. If I take 10 courses starting Fall and finish them all by end of spring, I can apply to the LPN program. Now i am thinking this is possible, but then again it does seem very hard. LOL. My other option is to start the courses for the Phlebotomy Certification and go that route and then go for the nursing program. I am in kind of a hurry, my husband is stationed here for maybe 2 more years and my goal is to complete the LPN in that time. AGH!!! i am going crazy here...Just wondering if anyone else did this or not?? Thanks again... APril in Troy
  9. Hello, I am a potential student but I LOVE this area. We are a military family living in Troy which is just outside of Detroit and from what I see, looks like people are surviving just fine here. There is alot of people working for TACOM and also lots of others here as well. Yes the auto industry is in shambles right now, but you are in the Health industry. i am sure you will have no problem finding a job here. Do what feels right for you and your family. Good Luck, from a Texas girl living in Michigan and LOVING IT!!!! April
  10. Hi everyone, Tomorrow I have an appt with Jenni at Baker College in Clinton Township for the Nursing Program. May I ask those who are in the program or who have graduated from it some questions?? First, How long is the program? Is it a m-f day time schedule? Those that graduated, how is the pay in this area? i am intersted in either the Rn or LPN, what is the main difference besides one year and two year? Thanks to you all for your help...
