California takes minimum of about four months before you will hear anything.
It is not recommended to use CA for initial licensure, they will not issue you a hard license until you have a SSN#................and you cannot endorse without a hard license.

Thanx for reply.I wanted to tell you that i have ss# and i am working partime incampus andi am doing my MSN(CNS)also.I am also having my clinical practice in Deaconess Hospital in Evansville and hope that it will become my employer after i will get my Licence. Can you tell me,do i need to do something special to change my visa status after, i will done with RN Exam as i wants to Call my husband from India to here as early as possible
Did you receive your BSN in the US or overseas? If you did not receive it in the US, you will need to complete the English exams prior to receiving the Visa Screen Certificate. They are only waived if you are getting an undergraduate degree here, not for the MSN.
You need to pass the NCLEX-RN before your employer can submit any Adjustment in Status for you. There is nothing that you do, it must be done by your employer who will do the petitioning of the green card for you. I also suggest that you get the Visa Screen Certificate application submitted as soon as possible, as you will be required to submit it to immigration. Your attorney will need to have it.

Hi, if you really want to take it in california just go to their website http://www.rn.ca.gov/ to download the form...since ur also here in philippines, u need to submit 2 fingerprints cards which you can also get from their website..u just have to email ur name and postal address..it took me 3 months of waiting for my eligibility status to be able sit for nclex thou i'm planning to take it by november in hongkong....others have to wait as long as 4-6 months...well, always be clear with your address and have your school prepare for your transcript ahead of time..coz it'll be the cause of delay somehow...if i were you listen to suzanne's advise regarding initial licensure.... :)
Even though you wish to work in California, do not go the route of CA for initial licensure. There has already much been said about this, please just do a search on this forum.
hi thanks for the reply... yes i olridy have a copy of that form and they even send me the 2 fingerprints cards...that was a year ago.. and i didnt continue it... but ryt now since im done with my ielts, im hoping to take nclex exam in hongkong..
an my prob. is about the steps of application for california nclex exam.....i had the form before and im having doubts about how to apply. should i follow the steps there in the form, when im planning to take nclex exam in hongkong.... ( i think thyre going to give me a shedule of my exam like the date or any special change of exam site )... i dont have a clue.... thanks for guiding me... goodluck on your coming exam ... i think ur from phil? from what review center? (dat if ur taking a review classes )

yeah, i'm from phil..actually, i'm not into review center...i just follow all suzanne's advice...i'm using saunder's as my review, esp the cd....the nclex program and other articles she has sent me...u can pm your email to suzanne to ask for review materials....as with your application for CA BON...just follow the instructions, see to it that you have inform your school regarding about ur transcript..don't pay for the interim permit as per ms suzanne's advice coz it will be no use to us as foreign nurse...don't think about the schedule yet coz it will follow as soon as u found urself eligible to sit for nclex...upon eligibility you will receive a letter from CA BON as well as the nclex application form then pay the necessary fees and send it again to the said address of nclex... i guess, u have to wait for at least 2 weeks upon sending and you will receive the ATT..from that point you will know your schedule as per your application, where to take it and so fort...but right now, concentrate on applying for CA BON....but if u have enough money or willing to spend more, then go to other route which is to apply for new york have u applied for your visa screen? if not, do it now...:)
Where you take the actual exam has nbothing to do with where you apply for licensure. Please read the stickies at the top of the page, that is what they are for. If you have questions afterwards, then I will be glad to answer them.
California is still not recommended for initial licensure. I advise not to do it, but it is your choice, and please do not complain when you have issues with it later.
thnk you for ur reply..... Godbless :)
