Applying to Weatherford/Tarrant County college. How do i look?

U.S.A. Texas

I'm applying to wc and tcc for next spring,

For Weatherford as long as i get 80+ on my TEAS ill be applying with 21 points, im hoping to get 90+ for 23/23 points.

TCC - which is my first choice is where im a little more concerned.

I will be applying with a 3.5 science GPA and a 95 on my HESI.

I know tcc is rediculously competitive after getting rejected with a 3.0, not even alternate listed.

So how do you guys think i look with my 3.5? is there anyone who has gotten in with that science gpa? I'm really looking to get accepted this time around, it'll be a huge amount of stress off the ol' shoulders!

Anyone?

Hi Mind,

Not sure about TCC but have heard that a 3.5 and a 95 on the HESI is competitive. Check out the forum thats on this site that was started by those accepted into Spring 2012. They probably can give you an idea on what to expect.

As for Weatherford, I have applied for the Fall 2012 and had 17 points. I found the TEAS V to be very difficult and took it twice. I have completed all my pre-reqs except Micro and APII. They plugged in a C grade for those two sciences because I am in the process of completing them now. If you have a 3.5-4.0 in the Sciences and College level Math thats 6 points. Then if you have completed the other general ed they require thats another 5 points (11 points total from pre-reqs)The TEAS V has a max of 12 points. Each section of the TEAS is graded separately. I got between 80 and 89% on all four sections (2 points per section).

Hope this helps. Good luck!

I got in first try at TCC with a science GPA (I think) of 3.75 and an overall of 3.6 something. They were still giving the TEAS back then, and I wasn't impressed with my raw scores, but compared to the cohort, they were in the upper 90th percentiles.

Just remember that every cohort for TCC is a different ball of wax. And I've *heard* that fewer people know to apply for the Spring so there's different stats between the Spring and Fall cohorts.

Just don't give up... people have started the rumors that you can't get into TCC without a 4.0 science and a darned-near 4.0 elsewhere, but the advisors will tell you flat out that's not true. They've changed the point system a bit from what I've heard, but it's still science GPA, overall GPA, TEAS, and how many of your prereqs you have done.

Good luck!!

Awesome thank you guys! Im retaking Chen and micro for A's and rockin both of them.Guess I just gotta keep my hopes up!
