Applying to SCF with a low GPA score?

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

I am finishing up my prerequisites this year. I have 2 math classes, written communications, and microbiology left before I apply to get my associates in the RN program. My GPA right now overall is a 2.8. What are my chances of getting in, and if it is low what can I do to improve my chances. Nursing has been one of my biggest dreams, and I don't want to give up.

When I went to talk to my advisor, my GPA was around that range and he told me that I didn't have a chance of getting in. I was devastated. I moved to Orlando to apply to other nursing schools and in the process I raised my GPA up to a 3.2. I just applied to scf. And they said that a 3.2 is still pretty low and not competitive enough. If I get in, I'll let you know butI'm not raising any hopes up. You should retake a couple of classes to raise that gpa. I took a whole year to raise my GPA up to a 3.2. If you're really determined and nursing is your dreams then you can do it!

How did this work out for both of you? sCF?
