Hello,
Hoping someone can help..... I live in CA but been thinking of attending college in AR for their nursing program since CA colleges are harder to get in. So, my question is how hard is it to get a license in CA with finishing nursing school in AR. Do I take my NCLEX in AR or CA? I will be planning to come back to CA after nursing school. How hard is it and have anyone experienced this? Trying to see if it will be worth going out of state for school.

You would take the CA NCLEX to practice in CA, but honestly, why not get that sweet compact license in AR, too? Just apply for the California license after you get your AR license.
Take your boards ASAP after school. I wouldn't go through the stress of moving and then sit for boards. That sounds like hell.

There is no California NCLEX. NCLEX is the same everywhere, and you can take it in any state. Apply for a license in the state you want to work in.
Instructions are here
You'll have to provide transcripts for review, and it has to be determined that they meet California's requirements. Most domestic graduates have no difficulty, but you might want to attempt to contact the BON in advance if you settle on a program that you'd like to attend.
