I am a travel nurse about to start my very first assignment. The hospital I'm about to start working at seems really good and is somewhere I'd be interested in working at full time someday...so I was wondering if there is any kind of rule against applying to or working full time at a hospital you've worked at as a travel nurse? I'm new to all this so I wasn't sure...thanks!

Best bet would be to ask your travel company. They would probably have an answer for you. Some have 'guidelines' meaning you have to work so many assignments with them before you can take an actual position, but I don't know how they could stop you, unless it's in your contract.

Check your contract. With most travel companies, if the hospital hires you as regular staff within 6 months of you working there as a traveler, the hospital has to pay a penalty to the travel company. Some hospitals will be willing to "buy you out" like this to hire you as regular staff, but check your contract.....

Just read this post clearly. You have not started yet? Work there for a while and see if you do like it as much as you think you do. I've had some rosy pictures paitned for me that didn't come undone until a few weeks into the assignment.
Otherwise, there is probably something in your contract about a length of time you must not work for the facility or the facility has to pay some sort of headhunter fee to the agency.
I hoep it remains a great place to work. FUn facilities are the best.
