hi all! i am in the process of interviewing for a nicu position at the hospital i currently work at (at the moment i work in the or for the past 4 years). this is something i have always wanted to do and have a passion for! the interviewing process has been fairly long. i did a phone interview for about 15 mins about 3 weeks after i applied. a week later i went in with the nurse manager for an hour interview/tour. i left feeling very confident that i had the job.i had done alot of research and had some good questions that i felt by talking to the nurse manager were inline with her goals and plans for the next few years. that was on a thursday and she said i should know around monday about the position. well on monday the secretery called and asked me to meet with the director of the womens and children unit. so i have a interview with her on the 17th. (next wends) now as i see this as a good thing, i can only help but keep second guessing myself!!! so i was just wondering what other people thought? it is just killing me to end up waiting a week and a half longer then i thought i was going to have to wait to find out if i have the job!!:uhoh3: any thoughts would be apprechiated. thanks!

Having landed a second interview sounds promising!

Relax, and just be as calm as possible during the interview. Having a friendly (not saccharin) personality definitely goes a long way when it comes to interviews.

As far as I knew second interviews were always a good thing. Third interviews can only be better, especially with the Director. Good lUck and let us know how it goes!

update: i haven't heard anything since my interview with the director so today i went over and talked to the manager. she stated that she really would like to hire me, but with the economic statis of the hospital they would like to wait for the next fiscal year (which will be july) this is actually good for me because i am getting married in june so i can get through that and then start the new job! yay!! i am so excited :yeah: (although it is not official yet) that i am getting this job. this is my dream job :heartbeat! anyways, i have been doing a lot of reading up about the nicu (this forum is great!) and i was wondering if you all had any ideas about what i should be learing/reading before i get to start. i will take any advice! but i am especially wondering about meds and such. at the current time i work in the or so it is a little different. any ideas would be great ! thanks!!!

Just wanted to say Congrats! Have you joined NANN? I'm sure that would be a great place to start.
