applying a model of care

Hi, just new at this so here goes. I have just learnt about the biopsychosocial model and am having trouble applying it (as an assignment) to a medical patient who is only in hospital for 2 weeks with a foot injury. The patient is financially ok has no religion, is quite confident on crutches and has a supportive family. Am I missing the point?

what model of care are you supposed to apply? the model of care is how you are to slant your thinking in your approach toward the nursing treatment for this patient. go back to your syllabus and review what it might have to say about this. at the nursing school i attended we had an entire 10-week class where the model of care was drummed into us and it was made very clear that it was to be used when we assessed and did our care plans on every patient until we graduated from the program.
